You'll learn hands-on exercises that will encourage you to think on your feet and sharpen your wit. The class is sure to be filled with laughter and positivity. Brian has had a love for comedy and acting for as long as he can remember. He began performing improv as a student (now graduate) at the College of William and Mary. Continuing his journey, he studied at the iO Theatre and The Second City in Chicago. He has been performing and teaching in Virginia since 2015 at comedy clubs, businesses, and festivals such as the Roanoke Comedy Fest, 2nd Best Fest (Richmond),

Williamsburg Comedy Festival, MAGfest (National Harbor, MD), and Floyd Fest. His favorite improviser is his four-year-old daughter who keeps him on his toes daily.

About the CEU: This In-Person 16 hour NCBTMB Approved Two Day CEU takes place in Blacksburg, VA at Santosha Massage.

The days, dates and times are Friday (2/20) & Saturday (2/21) 9 am - 5pm with breaks throughout the two days, including an hour long lunch break each day.

In this CEU there is a heavy focus on Anatomy & Hands On Practice.

Details of CEU:

Unraveling Sciatica, Psoas, and IT Band with emphasis on longterm resolution of pain

Objective: Understanding detailed anatomy and bodywork techniques to alleviate sciatic impingement, pelvic tilts, and IT Band pain.

Outcome: Therapists will increase knowledge of anatomy and learn to reach deeper lying tissues gripping the pelvis and lumbar spine. This will include structural analysis, manipulation of tissues, and routines for strengthening and lengthening of muscles.

About The Instructor: Bettina Freese has been in private practice for 25 years and teaching massage programs for 20 years. She served as a lead teacher for 15 years at Asheville School of Massage & Yoga and ran two programs at AB Tech Community College. Currently, Bettina serves as lead anatomy teacher at Maryland Community College Continued Education.

She specializes in anatomy and functional movement, educating clients and therapists in how to assess injuries and develop bodywork routines to make structural changes. Bettina is certified as a yoga teacher from the Asheville Yoga Center. She also spent many years coaching gymnastics, including adult classes.

Tuition $325 Early Bird / $395 Regular

What to Bring:

•One set of sheets per day (top, bottom, face cradle)

•Massage lotion or oil (natural and unscented)

A two hour pilates, yoga, and deep relaxation experience. Participants will be guided through a low impact, body strengthening pilates sequence (modifications offered throughout as needed), followed by a slow and nourishing yoga and stretching portion of class, ending with a cozy and easeful deep relaxation.

Suitable for people of all ages, abilities, and experience. 8 spaces available.
